The company has produced a pre-production prototype of the Jaguar its first crossover F-Pace to participate in the bicycle race “Tour de France”. Utility machines act as support of the British team Team Sky.
The car had already taken part in a test race with Team Sky team leader Chris Froome. Jaguar F-Pace will accompany the cyclist for the first stage of the competition, which starts on July 4 in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Factory studio automaker – Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) – prepared for a crossover special attachment for bikes Pinarello Bolide TT. During the 13.7-kilometer race in the car will be sporting director, a doctor, a mechanic and another member of the team Team Sky. In addition, the coupe will carry the inventory team, including tools and spare parts for bicycles, drinks, clothes, as well as energy gels for athletes.
The “Jaguar” noted that the first phase of “Tour de France” will be the first event where a slightly disguised pre-production F-Pace will officially to the public. The debut of commercial off-road vehicle will take place in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The basis of the new crossover will form aluminum chassis iQ [Al], which is built sedan XE. Motor range will include two-liter petrol and diesel “turbochetverki” family Ingenium. In addition, Jaguar F-Pace will be offered with a three-liter V6 engine with a mechanical supercharger capacity of 340 horsepower.
